Ken Tyminski
Chairman
With more than 32 years of information technology experience, Ken Tyminski is uniquely qualified to provide strategic consulting services for technology companies, business enterprises, and industry associations with a focus in the area of information security and risk management.
He most recently served as Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for the Prudential Insurance Company of America. In this position he was responsible for ensuring that Prudential's business systems were architected appropriately, implemented securely and protected from malicious outsiders and insiders. As CISO, he also led Information Security Office for Prudential, which established policies, standards and ensured controls were in place for millions of users, thousands of branches and hundreds of offices across the country and internationally.
Prior to his assignment as Prudential's first Chief Information Security Officer, Ken held several other prominent positions. While working in the Corporate Technology Services organization he managed the Operations Control Center, overseeing the entire technology operation for the enterprise. Ken has also managed Information Technology Help Desks, IT Controls and Compliance functions, Technology Research and Software Engineering organizations. Throughout his career he has demonstrated his ability to create and manage enterprise scale technical and operational organizations. Ken is well known in the industry as a visionary, strategic thinker and early adopter. He has served on the advisory boards of several companies and is known for his candor and frankness. Ken is an outstanding presenter who speaks frequent at Conferences and Symposiums.
Ken graduated Magnum Cum Laude from Upsala College with a BS degree in Business Administration. He also has earned a certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Craig Shumard
As the head of the CIGNA Information Protection organization, Craig Shumard drives the company's key IT security initiatives, including: risk assessment, trusted user and remote worker risk-based access control, IT network segmentation and development of 21st century information protection operating models which focus on enabling business securely.
Mr. Shumard is a recognized thought leader in the area of information protection, often serving as an industry spokesman at national conferences and events as well as features in national publications including The Wall Street Journal, InformationWeek and CSO Magazine.
James N. Schwarz
James Schwarz is the Senior Partner at Patton Boggs LLP. Primarily serving as general counsel, James Schwarz advises clients-ranging from early stage start-up companies to companies on the New York Stock Exchange-on business organization and transactional matters. He helps clients form entities, structure transactions and negotiate for the acquisition of entities or their assets, and in the sale and disposition of the assets of client companies. Mr. Schwarz also advises clients on a broad range of business matters, including corporate law, financial transactions, litigation management, real estate acquisitions and divestitures, lease negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, risk management, environmental law compliance, corporate governance, cyber security and related matters. He also negotiates and drafts various types of commercial contracts.
Before joining Patton Boggs, Mr. Schwarz served in a number of corporate leadership roles, where he was responsible for legal matters of parent companies and their subsidiaries. In these roles, he regularly managed complex litigation, administered major mergers and acquisitions and prepared securities documents. Additionally, Mr. Schwarz managed site selection, reviewed and negotiated leases for new store locations and negotiated sales/leaseback transactions. He has also held operational responsibility for a retail division.
James Shira
James Shira is the Head of GITR Americas at Zurich Financial Services, where he is responsible for IT Risk and Security in the Americas, for Farmers and ZNA. Prior to that, James served as Chief Security Officer at American General Finance, where he was responsible for establishing converged security functions within a large financial services environment, and as IT Security Officer for the Americas at Bank Julius Baer.
Melvin B. Taub
Melvin B. Taub was the Corporate Technology Officer for CitiGroup until his retirement in 2003. He chaired the CitiGroup Information Technology Leadership Council and addressed technology planning and cross-business technology initiatives. Prior to 2000, when he moved to CitiGroup Corporate, he was a senior Executive Vice President of Salomon Smith Barney and the CIO of the CitiGroup Global Corporate and Investment Bank. He had directed Operations and Technology at Salomon Smith Barney and its predecessor companies since 1991.
Prior to joining Smith Barney, Mel held a variety of senior management Operations and Systems positions at Merrill Lynch, E.F. Hutton, and Shearson Lehman Brothers. He was a member of the Boards of Directors for the Depository Trust and Clearing Company and the Options Clearing Corporation, for which he was a Member Vice Chairman. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of the National Securities Clearing Corporation, as a member of the Boards of Directors of the Securities Industry Automation Corporation and the NASDAQ Stock Market, and as a member of the NASDAQ Industry Advisory Committee. In 1999, Mel served as Chairman of the After Hours Working Group on Clearance, Settlement, and Operations Issues, on behalf of the Securities and Exchange Commission, NYSE, and NASD.
Mel has served as a technology advisor to the National Counter-Terrorism Center and as a member of the Boards of Advisors to Hewlett Packard and MCI. He also has worked with the Markle Foundation Task Force on National Security in the Information Age. Mel currently serves as a technology advisor to the FBI. In addition, he is an Executive-In-Residence at the NYU Stern School Center for Digital Economy Research. He also advises several small technology companies and charitable organizations.
Mel has a B.S. in Mathematics from Brookly College and a M.S. in Operations research from New York University Engineering School.
Ozzie Diaz
Ozzie Diaz has amassed his senior executive experience across the Mobile & Wireless, Fortune 100, Service Provider, Government, Smart Grid, and Security industries. Ozzie has led the evolution and growth of People Power's energy service management cloudbased solution and business while serving as CTO. He now advises many early stage startups, entrepreneurs, venture capital and analyst firms on industry trends and companies.
Ozzie has over 25-years career experience with both Fortune 100 companies and early stage venture-backed companies. Ozzie was most recently Chief Technology Officer of People Power Co., an energy management services company. Prior to joining People Power he was President & CEO of AirPatrol, a wireless security company. Prior to AirPatrol, Ozzie led the Mobile & Wireless strategy and execution as the Mobility CTO in HP's Office of Strategy & Technology. He also led Systems Engineering, Market and Business Development activities for a number of venture-funded companies including Firetide, AirFlow Networks and Bivio Networks where he was a co-founder or senior management team member addressing Enterprise, Service Provider and vertical markets with wireless and security solutions.
Ozzie worked for Cisco's Service Provider Line of Business as a Senior Manager designing and implementing telecom IP architectures and migration strategies for Telcos, Cablecos, Cellcos, ISPs, and CLECs. He also worked for Motorola as their Lead System Architect at Motorola's Land Mobile Products Sector where he led new protocol and product specifications for LMR, iDEN, and cellular radio network infrastructure. Prior to joining Fortune 100 corporations, Ozzie spent time in the defense and aerospace industry, including 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps specializing in avionics and airborne communications.
Ozzie's industry standards activities include North American IPv6 Task Force Mobility and Wireless Subject Matter Expert and Steering Committee Member, Silicon Capitol (Wireless Sacramento) Advisor and Wireless Subject Matter Expert, California IPv6 Task Force Steering Committee Member, Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C) Steering Council Member Ozzie published a paper on the "Utility of Broadband Wireless: A Technology Roadmap for Disaster Response" for homeland defense in cooperation with the Worldwide Consortium for the Grid (W2COG) and an industry-wide team of subject matter experts. Ozzie has several inventions and patents pending on new connected device concepts and connected device management architectures. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Northeastern Illinois University.
P.J. Louis
Since 2004, P.J. Louis has owned and operated P.J. Louis LLC. P.J. Louis LLC is a consultancy that provides business and operational advisory services to investors and to underperforming/distressed telecommunications, media and technology companies. P.J. has over 30 years of experience leading companies in the financial, media, Internet, and telecommunications industries.
P.J. is a hands-on seasoned executive with experience in directing large-scale technology development and deployment efforts. With previous experience at FTI Consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and many more, P.J. is also an accomplished author on various telecom technology and industry topics.
Robert K. West
Bob is responsible for creating and executing Echelon One's corporate strategy. He has over 25 years of experience in corporate and startup environments.
Bob is a frequent speaker on the subject of information security and risk, cloud computing, database security and on global policy issues such as payment fraud and critical infrastructure. He is on the board of management for the Jericho Forum, advisory boards for Agilance, CipherCloud, the Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council and Trusteer. He has also been on the University of Detroit Mercy's College of Liberal Arts and Education Securent's advisory board (acquired by Cisco), TriCipher's advisory board (acquired by VMWare), a member of RSA Security's Customer Advisory Council, and the ISS Customer Advisory Council. Bob is a member of the IT Sector Coordinating Council, and is a member of the international cybercrime subcommittee. He also has visibility into and advises key people that influence national legislation. He is quoted frequently in the press including BusinessWeek, Forbes and The Wall Street Journal.
Previously, Bob was Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati where he was responsible for the enterprise information security strategy. Prior to joining Fifth Third, Bob worked for Bank One in Columbus where he held several key leadership roles, including Information Security Officer for Bank One's Retail Group. Prior to joining Bank One, Bob was a manager with Ernst & Young's Information Security Services practice in Chicago, and a Senior Systems Officer with Citicorp International in New York and Chicago.
Bob received the 2004 Digital ID World Conference award for Balancing Innovation and Reality, and a 2004 InfoWorld 100 Award for implementing cross-company authentication using SAML and was a nominee for the ISC2 Senior Information Security Professional of the Year, 2011. Bob graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in German and then received his Master of Science in Management Information Systems from North Central College.

Rob Markovich
Rob Markovich is an entrepreneur, investor, and consultant/advisor to many successful companies, and has a broad understanding of selling network and security systems to enterprises and service providers. He has held executive positions in marketing, business development and sales for companies, ranging from early startups to public corporations. Markovich was co-founder and executive at service level management pioneer Visual Networks, helping it grow from zero to $100M in four years and leading it in a highly successful IPO, later acquired by Fluke Networks. In addition, Markovich was co-founder and CEO of wireless security management startup Network Chemistry, later acquired by Aruba Networks. He also co-founded and was Managing Director of the boutique venture capital firm, The Hatch Group, where he made several successful investments in wireless, security, and network management startups.
Markovich also served as CEO of wireless convergence startup, Agito Networks, where he led partner deals with Cisco, Avaya, Motorola, RIM and Microsoft. Markovich began his career as a network engineer, supporting the global network of Fortune 50 conglomerate Dupont Company. He later moved into product management and marketing for network test leader Acterna, where he successfully grew product line sales from $25M to more than $75M.
Scott Mize
Scott is an entrepreneur, advisor, and speaker in the field of high technology. He has 20 years of experience in the information technology, new media and Internet industries, and has worked in the nanotechnology field for ten years. He currently provides business and venture development services to infotech, nanotech and cleantech companies. Current and recent clients include AirPatrol, FEI Company, Think Big Partners (home of The Gigabit Challenge), Belectric, Silverstone Solutions, Atomistix (now Quantumwise), Materials Design, Nanostellar, Nano Science and Technology Institute, Small Times Media, Kiss App Games and Predictive Medicine.
Scott was President of Foresight Nanotech Institute, the leading nanotechnology think tank. Prior to joining Foresight, he co-founded a nanotechnology tools company focused on creating a breakthrough imaging and metrology instrument. Scott provided management services to Technanogy, a nanomaterials company which merged with Nanotechnologies, Inc. (now NovaCentrix). He also served as an advisor to Accelrys, the leading nanotechnology software company, Clean Edge, a clean technology market research firm and Natural Logic, an environmental performance consulting firm.
He served as a principal in Double Impact, a venture catalyst firm, providing business development, capital advisory and strategy services to early-stage wireless, Internet, information technology, and new media companies. Scott co-founded and served as CEO of Zelos!, an early publisher of personal learning products on CD-ROM, which was acquired by Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR). He served as Apple Computer's Multimedia Content Evangelist (NASDAQ: AAPL) and was a Product Manager in the Information Services Group at Lotus Development Corporation (acquired by IBM, NYSE: IBM). Scott also served as director of software development for a hand-held computer manufacturer and co-founded a microcomputer software company.
He is a founder of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (now Entrepreneurs' Organization) and the San Francisco Multimedia Development Group. Scott attended Harvard College and co-founded the Association of Collegiate Entrepreneurs. He served on the board of the founding conference for the International Space University.
