95% of the SmartPhones used in Business are Personal
According to a recent IDC Benchmark study, only 5 percent of consumer smartphones purchased are not used for business. The other 95 percent are used in business environments. In other words, most employees will purchase the smartphone that they want and customize it to their own needs, leaving the Enterprise in which they use the phone to support and secure the new device.
Smartphones can be a moving target for an Enterprise
Smartphones are always on, often in use, and highly mobile. This poses a vulnerability risk and potential liability to Enterprises. The main issue is not Policy enforcement. It's the lack of locational and contextual awareness needed to provide a personalized policy in real-time.
