The WLS Cell / WLAN Sensor™ (WS1002)

The WLS Cell / WLAN sensor delivers powerful wireless detection capabilities with performance characteristics superior to any other currently-available wireless sensor.

The WLS Cell / WLAN sensor combines a cellular phone call detector with 802.11 a/b/g/n detection in a single package. It’s the first Ethernet-capable sensor that simultaneously detects 802.11 a/b/g/n traffic and cellular phone activity in the 800 MHz and 1900 MHz bands.

The WLS Cell / WLAN sensor includes two Ethernet ports with network pass-through capabilities. This enables this sensor to be piggybacked onto existing network infrastructure, dramatically reducing deployment costs and time frames. Consequently, more extensive sensor networks can be deployed, increasing detection capabilities and redundancy, and improving overall positional accuracy.

The WS1001 CellSensor delivers powerful wireless sensing capabilities with performance characteristics superior to any other currently available cell phone detector. The WS1001 CellSensor provides reliable cellular phone signal detection in a robust, industrial grade design. It detects CDMA and GSM cellular phone activity in both the 800 MHz and 1900 MHz bands, and the received information is used to accurately locate detected cell phone devices. The detection range of the WS1001 CellSensor significantly exceeds that of the competition, so fewer sensors are required to protect an area, dramatically reducing deployment costs and time frames. Consequently, more extensive sensor networks can be deployed, increasing detection capabilities and redundancy, and improving overall positional accuracy.

The option to power the sensor using standard 802.3af Power over Ethernet technology further simplifies installation.

Wireless Locator System Integration
The WS1001 is used in conjunction with AirPatrol's Wireless Locator System to accurately locate all cell phone transmissions. In addition to locating devices being used to transmit voice calls or digital data transmissions (e.g. emails or SMS text messages), the system also locates powered cell phones which are not in use by detecting the periodic ‘ping’ signals which they send to the local cell tower. Used together, the WS1001 and the Wireless Locator System give customers a 24 x 7 view of all cell phone activity within the enterprise.
